Kunst bedeutet für mich vor allem eins: Expansion. Schon als Kind war ich in allen möglichen Bereichen künstlerisch aktiv, doch seit ich das Malen im Erwachsenenalter wiederentdeckt habe, sind die Leinwände immer größer und größer geworden.
In der Kunst kann ich über mich selbst hinauswachsen und meinen Gedanken neuen Raum geben. Das Experimentieren mit verschiedenen Materialien und Farben bringt mir Freude und gibt mir die Möglichkeit, meine eigenen Gedanken und Emotionen weiterzudenken, für mich selbst sichtbar und für andere lesbar zu machen. Das Malen gibt mir zugleich Ruhe und Kraft.
Meine Leinwände bespanne ich selbst, da auch die Vorbereitung für mich ein wichtiger Teil des Prozesses ist. Generell spielt die Haptik und die Handarbeit eine große Rolle in meiner Kunst. Das Zusammenspiel von Acrylfarbe und Spachtelmasse erlaubt mir die Expansion in räumliche Dimensionen, durch die ich meinen Gedanken Farbe und Form verleihen und sie für mich und andere erfahrbar machen kann.
Hin und wieder überkommt mich auch mal die Lust, ein kleineres Bild anzufertigen und auch solchen Impulsen lasse ich freien Lauf. Das Großartige an der Kunst ist, dass man sie immer weiterdenken kann. Dass es immer weitergeht. So finde ich Sicherheit in Freiheit.
For me, personally, art means one thing above all: expansion. Already as a child, I was artistically active in all kinds of fields, but since I rediscovered painting in adulthood, the canvases have gotten bigger and bigger.
In art, I can rise above myself and unlock new spaces for my thoughts. Experimenting with different materials and colors brings me immense joy and gives me the opportunity to outthink my own thoughts and emotions, to make them visible to myself and readable to others. Painting gives me both peace and strength at the same time.
I craft my canvases myself, as for me the preparation is also an important part of the process itself. In general, the surface feel and the craftsmanship play a major role in my art. The combination of acrylic paint and spackle allows me to expand into spatial dimensions, through which I can render my thoughts in color and form and make them tangible for me and others.
Every now and then, I feel the urge to create a smaller painting and I made it a rule to follow impulses like these. The great thing about art is that it’s made to expand. That it always goes on. This is how I find safety in freedom.
